Accessibility
A place worthy of the work should be a place anyone can enter.
HAUS:element is operated by Corvus Homes, LLC. We want this site to be usable by everyone who might one day bring their work to the property — including people who navigate by keyboard, read with a screen reader, need larger text, or have asked their system for reduced motion.
The standard we hold
We measure this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
Where we stand
This site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and we are actively remediating. Partially conformant means most of the site meets the standard, and some parts do not yet. We would rather say that plainly than claim more than we can stand behind.
What already works
Every page opens with a skip link to the main content and a single, correctly ordered heading outline. The site is operable by keyboard, and keyboard focus is shown with a visible amber ring. Every form field carries a real label, marks its required fields programmatically, and ties its validation message to the field it belongs to. Images carry text alternatives, and decorative marks are hidden from assistive technology rather than read aloud. The atmosphere film behind the pages is muted, decorative, and never announces itself; nothing on the site plays audio or auto-advances on a timer. A “Pause motion” button sits in the bottom corner of every page: it stops the film, the slow drift on the photography, and the looping scroll cues, and it is reachable by keyboard like any other control. If your system asks for reduced motion, the film falls back to still frames and the site’s animations stop on their own. The interface also responds to reduced-transparency and increased-contrast settings.
What we know is not there yet
The site is set over a continuous film of photography and ambient video. Against the darker passages of that imagery our text meets the required contrast; against the brightest passages of the brightest scenes, smaller low-emphasis text can still fall below it. Deepening the scrim page by page is work in progress. We have also not yet completed testing across the full range of screen readers and assistive technologies, and the site has not had an independent third-party audit.
Tell us what you hit
If any part of this site keeps you from doing what you came to do, please write to hello@corvushomes.com. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and — if it helps — the browser and assistive technology you were using.
A person reads that inbox by hand. We will acknowledge your message within a few business days, tell you what we found, and give you either a date for the fix or another way to get what you needed in the meantime.
